A soldier being interviewed in Iraq was asked what is his greatest fear? He replied the obvious hurt or worse and second what my love one is doing back home. So to all the Soldiers, Seaman, Airman, and Marines keep your AmeriCAN® Spirit alive. This one is written for you from your love one.
To My Soldier Sailor Airman and Marine
I know you are worried being so far away, It is why I write so you know I won’t stray. You are the one I think about and all that you do, Often I am very afraid and really have no clue.
At work I put a face on that is flat, So no one bothers me because of that. I want you to never forget how proud I am of you, Especially these times when you must get through!
Remember in training you could barely move? I remember seeing how much you improved. I remember later when you became so strong, You even marched a night and two days long!
You are incredible to give so much, Never forget how I miss your touch? I have read many stories back here, Sometimes I get afraid and even tear.
I know you are worried too, But God will get us through. I am sitting here in the apartment, Thinking of your 4 by 6 compartment!
My love in words could never express, All that we both feel from this distress! I have the ability like your strong arms, To protect our love from anyone’s harm!
You sacrifice so much and for so many, You’d think they would pay you plenty? Know all of America truly loves you! Yesterday I wore your pin to the zoo.
I was extremely frightened at first, An attendant came at me headfirst! He said Miss you don’t wait, I know that pin, It is a special place my brother has been!
He then asked me what do I need or want. I said my husband and a trip to Vermont! Well just another day back here. We all miss you so nothing to fear.
I think of you every second of every minute of every day, So focus on your job because I will never stray! I love you more than all the elements of the periodic table, And someone better improve that freakin Ethernet cable!
“I love thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach..." Elizabeth Barrett Browning
