Chief Chitwood's innovative plans in law enforcement are the model for all other departments to follow. His officer's outstanding performance during special events such as Bike Wek has been featured on the National Geographic channel. His reorganization and effort to stop or deter crime is well known to the residents and surrounding communities. One example, is during New Year's Eve most departments set up DUI check points as does DBPD. Except his concentration is on the criminal(s) "they like to party too" So his special teams go out with outstanding warrants to get the bad guys off the street.
